Unable to add Hypervisors to an Empty Aggregate

Problem

When trying to add hypervisors to an empty aggregate using the UI, the operation fails without any error.

Environment

• Platform9 Managed OpenStack - All Versions
• Nova
• Clarity UI

Cause

The addition of hypervisors fails because there is no availability zone associated with the aggregate after all the hosts were removed from the aggregate. The removal of all hosts from an aggregate deleted the associated availability zone as well.

Resolution

1. Edit the Host Aggregate and check the "Create new availability zone" checkbox.

2. Select the desired hosts to add to the aggregate and click Save.
