Problem

The instance is stuck in migrating state after the migration was aborted manually.

Nova

Cause

The exact root cause is not known. The instance was stuck with status as "MIGRATING" after running the below command to abort the migration.

nova live-migration-abort [UID] [migration_task]

Resolution

Restart the pf9-ostackhost service on the host running the affected instance.

systemctl restart pf9-ostackhost
