How-To Manually Update Neutron port Binding

Problem

The port binding is bound to a host other than the one on which the instance is currently running.

Environment

• Platform9 Managed OpenStack - All versions
• Neutron

Cause

• Neutron failed to update the port binding after a migration failure.

Resolution

1. Identify the Host UUID on which the instance is currently running.
2. Update the Neutron port using the following command to modify and activate the port binding on the new host.

openstack port set --host [NEW_HOST_UUID] [PORT_UUID]
