Error "Communication Failure" During Host Onboarding

Problem

Adding a host to the Platform9 Managed Kubernetes Control plane (Onboarding) with the PMK CLI ( pf9ctl) fails with the error: "WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! "

Environment

• Platform9 Managed Kubernetes - All Versions
• PMK CLI - All Versions

Cause

The pf9ctl command is run for onboarding one or more remote hosts and the remote host's SSH fingerprint may have changed due to either rebuilding or replacement of the host.

Resolution

On the host that's running the pf9ctl command, find the entry for the remote host's IP address or domain name in the ~/.ssh/known_hosts file. Comment or remove the line as shown below and run the pf9ctl command again.
